Ryan Alsman
Managing Partner
Ryan started Hurdle in 2023 with the goal of bringing excellent financial planning to early stages businesses. He identified the need for early stage businesses to have strong financial leadership but understands that there may not be a full-time finance need in the business. Ryan believes that Hurdle’s hands-on approach can lead to stronger outcomes for early stage businesses.
Ryan has deep expertise in finance across businesses in a variety of industries, stages and environments. He has held finance roles in large public companies all the way down to early stage venture backed startups. He leverages these experiences to help Hurdle’s clients accelerate growth and maximize profitability.He holds a Bachelors of Science in Finance and Management Information Systems as well as an MBA from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana.
In Ryan’s free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and attending Butler University men’s basketball home games. Go Dawgs!

Meg Powell
Manager, Strategy and Finance
The vast majority of Meg’s career has been in finance for early-stage to mid-size businesses. She has held financial roles at companies ranging from 25 domestic employees to 2,000 global employees. Meg also has experience in account management and sales operations at an early-stage startup, in demo automation and data analytics at Salesforce, and as Chief of Staff for an entrepreneurial organization based in Indianapolis.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Entrepreneurial Management from TCU as well as a Tableau Specialist Certification and a Prosci Change Management Certification. She is currently working on gaining the FMVA certification from CFI. Her financial expertise and diverse background allow her to provide well-rounded financial advice that enhances the overall success and operational efficiency of Hurdle’s clients.
In Meg’s free time, she enjoys exploring new restaurants with friends and family, walking her German Shepherd, and improving her brand new golf game.
